If iTunes asks you if you would like to replace your iPod's contents with songs from the iTunes library, just say no. Instead, look for the iPod icon from the source list and click on the Manually Manage Songs and Playlists and Disk Use options. Launch TinkerTool and click on the Finder Tab to see hidden files. The Relaunch Finder should be clicked then, while the iPod's icon on your desktop should be double clicked. Inside this folder are several other folders, and one of these is the music folder. Now, drag this to your desktop and copy the files from your iPod.
