They say there are hundreds of ways to skin cats.
I say, why not go with the easiest?
When you are trying to remain focused and proactive in reaching your goal, there can be so many distractions that keep you from ever getting there.
The most deadly of these comes from your own mind. Your thoughts can be responsible for you going from a goal focused and driven individual, to "let's text everyone we know," in seconds.
You need to harness your mind to the best of your ability, at every available moment. The problem is, you can not always keep these thoughts in mind. You're going to have ideas that absolutely clash with the ones that get you going, and, depending on how you feel at any given time, you might believe those clashing thoughts and forget why you were motivated in the first place.
You need to create a way to help yourself remember why you got started in the first place, and why you are going to finish.
For this, I like using plain old index cards and a sharpie.
The first thing you have to do is be in the right state of mind. If you are not feeling enthusiastic about your goal right now, take a break, maybe watch t.v. or read a book, and come back when you are. You need to be able to tap into that thought pattern that creates those ideas and goals that really push you and get you excited about doing what you have to do.
If you are prepared, keep your sharpie and index cards ready, and close your eyes and begin to bring up all of the reasons that you really desire what it is that you want. Give yourself very specific examples here, so they really motivate you when you need them.
If you need help getting to the heart of a motivation, just ask yourself why. Why do I want this? Why would this make me happy?
You'll find that motivation soon enough.
When you finally have it, write it down on the card, in big letters. Make sure you'll be able to read it from wherever you are in the room.
When you finish that, put the card somewhere that you will look very often, so the card can act as a constant reminder. It will help ignite your motivation when you need it, and will help you to stay focused and driven.
When that's done with, repeat the process until you almost have too many. There are going to be times that one motivator does not work as well as you hoped, but another one will push you.
If you are worried about the way they look, keep them in a picture frame. It'll be a little more pleasing, and you might even take the idea more seriously.
This simple tool can be the difference between you being successful, and you failing as an online business owner, or in any area of life.
Do not take it lightly.
