It may surprise you that to be successful in your network marketing business, you don't have to sell a thing. This is because a lot of very successful Networkers have made their millions without knowing how to sell. In fact they do something that their counterparts in MLM don't.
What do they do? You ask. Well, they market. Are you surprised? That marketing does not equate selling? Let me explain.
Why selling in itself is an art that only trained sales people know how to do best, you should only sell retail products in network marketing if you know how to sell. Trust me, selling is one of the most difficult task in network marketing and anyone who is not trained in sales will fail woefully if he tries to sell.
Interestingly, experience has shown that ordinary people who know how to market have always done better in moving products across to consumers than most sales people. Where a marketer makes $5,000, a trained sales person only makes one thousand dollars.
At this point you will be wondering and may be curious about the difference between selling and marketing. The are synonymous in nature, but different in meaning. From my research, here is the clear difference between these two words.
Selling is the science of getting a customer to purchase a product or services without minding the customers need for the product you are supplying.
Marketing is creating a long lasting relationship with a view to investigate the needs of your prospects and recommending products that will meet those needs to the customers satisfaction.
In other words, marketing builds credibility and gives the customer more satisfaction simply because his true needs are met. This is a factor selling does not accomplish. - 15478
