How do I get academic regalia?
Contact the Office of Academic Affairs. Teresa Smith will take orders for renting regalia during the summer of each academic year. She will notify you when it arrives, always in time for our Opening Celebration. You can pick it up from her and give her a check at the same time. You return it to Teresa after Commencement.Academic regalia can be purchased at the Barnes & Noble Georgia Tech Bookstore. Regalia can be purchased up to the day preceding the ceremony.Contact the Office of Academic Affairs.
Can I keep the regalia?
Unfortunately not. The school rents regalia for each student from Jostens. Graduates must return everything but the cap and tassle to the designated collection point in the reception area before 5:30 p.m. on the day of the Commencement Ceremony. Graduates who fail to return regalia will be charged approximately $370 (purchase price of the complete regalia). Hygiene students who do not return the regalia will be charged approximately $170 (purchase price of complete regalia). You should make your booking with your photographer and then contact Regalia Craft to arrange to hire the regalia (Ph: 08 9328 4194)A letter will be mailed to each student's permanent address that has applied for graduation. This letter gives details of how and where to pick up cap and gown and have professional photos taken. Men are encouraged to wear dark trousers and shoes and a shirt with a collar. Women are encouraged to wear dark slacks, a skirt or a dress, as well as low-heeled shoes.Graduation regalia should be returned within two hours after the commencement exercises. Late returns will attract a penalty/restocking fee of $500. If it is not returned your account will be charged for the full cost of regalia.

Students in the military must also wear academic regalia. Uniforms may be worn underneath the regalia.Notices are posted online, on the University Records Bulletin Board, at the Registrar??s Office, and at the Gown's room. These times are strictly adhered to.The Commencement Participation Form (CPF) is a two-part form available only in the packet of information mailed to eligible graduates prior to the ceremony date. This form must be completed and both parts returned to the University Registrar's Office along with the appropriate fee in the envelope provided. The receipt of the form by NSU serves to reserve your place in the ceremony and to order the standard regalia (cap and gown) from the NSU Bookstore. Faxed forms cannot be accepted. - 15478
