What should I wear underneath my academic regalia?
Men are encouraged to wear dark trousers and shoes and a shirt with a collar. Women are encouraged to wear dark slacks, a skirt or a dress, as well as low-heeled shoes.Students: All students purchase their regalia directly through the Bookstore (either online or in person). The deadline for student regalia orders is April 1, 2007. You may pick up your regalia from the Bookstore prior to Graduation.

Where do I receive information concerning graduation regalia and pictures?
A letter will be mailed to each student's permanent address that has applied for graduation. This letter gives details of how and where to pick up cap and gown and have professional photos taken. For more detailed information you should visit the return counter at the University Bookstore.The club's spares and regalia lists (including remanufactured, new-old-stock and second-hand items for all models catered for by the club) are constantly updated, and the most recent are published in each issue of Sidevalve News. This is available to members only. We cannot supply spares or regalia lists online or via email. To find out more about the kinds of spares we generally carry, please visit our spares information page.Unfortunately not. The school rents regalia for each student from Jostens.
After graduation when should I return my regalia?
Graduation regalia should be returned within two hours after the commencement exercises. Late returns will attract a penalty/restocking fee of $500. If it is not returned your account will be charged for the full cost of regalia.Yes.

The Tech bookstore will have a designated week approximately 6-8 weeks before commencement where you can visit with a representative and order graduation announcements, rings, frames and your regalia. The Champion must also care for the regalia and turn it over to his or her successor after the next championship competition.Unfortunately, replacement regalia is not available on the day of Commencement. The robes are knee length.Rensselaer adheres to the standards of the Intercollegiate Bureau of Academic Costume.
