Blogging About Baby is Good for Mom

By M Taylor

If you've just had a new baby, the last thing you're probably thinking about is writing a blog. As you are discovering, caring for a newborn is a lot more work than it looked like. Diapers need constant changing; if the baby isn't sleeping, he's eating; and the rest of the time it seems he's spitting up. How can there possibly be any time left to blog?

Despite all this, more moms are starting to blog than ever before to share their experiences of raising a new baby. Mothers can benefit greatly from blogging, too. Blogs can help you get through the night and connect with far away family.

Blogging is a great idea for a new mom to blow off a little steam when the day to day hassles of life with a baby get a little overwhelming. It is also a great way to share those exciting events like baby's first smile. Every parent soon learns that baby doesn't always sleep according to plan, leaving them with hours to kill in the middle of the night, rocking the baby. Some moms turn on the television, but let's face it, there usually isn't much on in the wee hours, is there? The Internet has become an alternative for those late night hours, surfing, reading and blogging. What was a depressing time can turn into a time of affirmation and productive activity.

Blogging also pulls new moms into a community. For many women, especially in our culture today, raising a new baby can be an isolating experience. Blogs offer a way for moms to connect with others experiencing the same things without the hassle and stress of dragging the baby out to social events where it may be difficult to attend to all of their needs. Many moms find a lot of comfort in knowing they are not alone, and by blogging, they can share their joys and frustrations with others in the same situation.

Another way to use a blog is to celebrate your adorable new baby! A blog gives you the opportunity to dote on your little one and reflect on how motherhood has affected you. Sharing these revelations can make them even more meaningful. Family and friends can tune into your blog on a regular basis to get updates on baby's growth and new accomplishments. The new blogging software available for free on many blog sites make it easy to post photos and even videos, so your family doesn't miss any of those important milestones. They will feel like they aren't missing a thing. - 15478
