How To Succeed At Affiliate Marketing

By John Savage

I am sure that you want to be a success as an affiliate marketer.

Naturally enough, you want to know which market will provide you with the biggest paycheck.

Sometimes they think it is a magic formula that is readily available for them. Actually, it is more complicated than that. It is just good marketing practices that have been proven over years of hard work and dedication.

I want to bring to your attention 3 marketing tips that have worked successfully in the past, and which will continue to work successfully in the future, and which will ensure that you not only survive online, but actually make some good sales.

What are these three tactics?

1. The first thing you must do is to use a seperate web page for each seperate product that you are marketing. I know that it is tempting to put them all together, but this is false economy and although you will save money on hosting, you will lose sales through doing it.

Do make sure that you make it quite clear to people who view your website just what the product will do for them. They need to know 'whats in it for me'. If you can obtain some genuine testimonials from past satisfied customers then do so, as these are very powerful and can persuade somebody who perhaps is in two minds as to whether or not to buy.

Now, how are your article writing skills? I ask this because if you can include an article on your website, which explains in greater details about your product or service, you can be on to a winner. Make sure you have a good headline, and always tell the customer what you want them to do i.e. order your goods or services.

2. The second thing that you can do is to offer a free report to the people who visit your website. This is very powerful. Also, make sure you have a box where people can leave their name and email address so that you can follow up with a series of autoresponder messages.

When a person visits your website only one of two things will happen. They will either get out their credit card and purchase your product, or they will click the close button. However if you can get them to sign up for a series of reports, then you stand a far better chance of making a sale a bit further down the line.

Do try to concentrate on telling your potential customer just what the product will do for them. Remember they are thinking 'whats in it for me'. Try and grab them with a great subject line in any emails that you send out, but also do try and avoid using the word 'free' as spam filters may just block your message.

3. You have probably heard it said before, but when you are looking for traffic to your website it is always much more cost effective to get targetted traffic, i.e. those people who are looking for your particular product. If for instance you have a dog training website you are probably wasteing your time and money attracting visitors who are looking for cat related products.

Try to write a minimum of 2 articles per week, with at least 300-600 words in length. By continuously writing and maintaining these articles you can generate as many as 100 targeted readers to your site in a day.

Always remember that only 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or get your services. If you can generate as much as 1,000 targeted hits for your website in a day, that means you can make 10 sales based on the average statistic.

The three suggestions that I have made above are not that difficult to carry out, it just requires determination on your part, and an action plan.

So, why not give these little tips a shot, give them a go, and if you do you will stand a very good chance of not only surviving in this business, but actually making quite a good living. - 15478
