6 Ways To Improve Conversions Using Google Adwords

By Donald D. Davis

If you're just getting started with pay-per-click advertising, reaching out to your target market may not be a simple process. Even when you understand what keywords your target market is using to find information you have, there is no guarantee that they will convert - that is, sign up for or purchase a product or service you have to offer. However, there are several other ways to increase conversion rates for your Google Adwords campaign and ensure that you keep getting high quality, targeted traffic to your website.

Google Adwords pioneer Perry Marshall encourages affiliate marketers and Internet advertisers to make the most of Google Adwords by testing multiple ads against each other, using innovative research methods to track down keywords that convert, and writing clear and concise ads that resonate with the viewer.

Improve your keywords conversion potential with these six important ways:

1. Let Google write your headline with the 'dynamic keyword' feature. So how does this feature works? When you select the dynamic keyword feature, it allows you to write your headline and helps you decide on the appropriate keywords to use while you build up your ad. Google puts as 'headline' the search term typed by your visitor in the search box. Then your ad is emphasized to the viewer who typed the word or phrase, thereby making your ad more memorable.

2. Only change one word when testing ads against each other. Perry Marshall encourages everyone to split test ads to track conversions and then pick the most effective ad after the trial period. However, the only way you'll really know what is working is by making very minor edits or modifications to your first ad. Try changing just one word in the headline or keyword in the body copy to find out what really 'clicks' with your viewers.

3. Don't run your ads on the Content network right away. The Content search may not help you get the targeted traffic you want right away, so turn this feature off when you first start out and focus instead on the basic search results pages.

4. Make use of the geographic targeting feature. Geographic targeting allows you to reach out to a specific market based on their location. This is especially effective if you are selling products or services that only apply to local markets; many businesses do not have a national or global market reach, so it may not be necessary to advertise at that level. Refining your Adwords reach can help you capture your high-converting traffic much more easily.

5. Do not type 'www' in your URL link. Reserve those extra characters for the extension of your website. You don't have to use 'www' all the time for a couple of reasons: firstly, there will be more clickthroughs from the viewers because they fairly have an idea of what to read on your site, and secondly, it looks better visually. However, for you to close a sale, you have to ensure that the link goes to a valid landing page or sales page.

6. Emphasize your ad's first letters by using the headline style. Readability is a vital factor in Google Adwords application so be sure to write your ad by capitalizing the initial letters. In the same way, you must use upper case on your ad's copy and URL link for a more enhanced and professional look. - 15478
